Daisy?

We got a sheet home today that Girl Scout registration takes place tomorrow. It's $35, can you believe that? Anyway, we're not sure if it's something Ariana wants to do or if we want to sign her on. Any experiences/advice/etc to share about having a child as a Girl Scout?

Katelyn has been in girl scouts since she was a daisy. It really gave her a different kind of friendship with girls she normally wouldn't meet. She has also has gotten to do many things that she usually wouldn't have tried, or we wouldn't have done. I never had a chance to do girl scouts so I wanted to give her that opportunity. She really loves it and this year is her last Brownie, next year Juniors.

Well Aly was in Daisies and brownies, she liked it for the first two years but quit because the troop leader played favortism with her own kids and her kids were brats. We asked Aly if she wanted to join another troop and she said no that she really didn't like going anyway. She said it was boring. LOL

Bethanie didn't do Daisies because there wasn't enough parent volunteers. However she is in brownies now and I am one of the leaders. We have had alot of fun with it. We have done alot of activies and I have noticed a close friendship between her and the other girls in the troop. We seem to have a great group of girls.

But $35?!?!??!?! Is that JUST for a registration fee? Our registration fee is only $10! Most troops collect dues but we decided we didn't need to do that. Instead we just ask for parents to volunteer to bring in snacks and we provide crafts. Then we made money with the cookie sells last winter/spring so now we have money for those things if no one volunteers.
