babysitters

We are having a neighbor girl babysit for just one of the kidlets for two hours every Tuesday in July. How much do I pay her? And what if she watches both? A friend said she'd pay $2 for one, and $4 for both. I'm thinking that's a little low, I don't know.

Any suggestions?

Crap, I never know what to pay people. Hmmm....I'd say $10 a day. That sounds reasonable.

We have someone (a college student) keep both kids for 3 hours once a week through the school year) and we pay her $30 a night. Sometimes we're back in two, but still give her $30. Based on your friend's suggestion, I'm getting ripped, though, so don't listen to me!

OTOH, it would take at least that much for me to keep someone else's kid. LOL.

I pay a sitter $3 for one, and $5 for both. We have a high school girl watch C 2 days/week thru the summer, and we pay her $10 for 1/2 days (4 hours or so), and $20 for full days (8 hours). (also, E's usually home too, but he's working). I asked her if this was OK, round #'s and all, and she's good w/it. (It's better than $35/day for summer care!)

I think $2 and $4 is low. That's what I used to get 20 years ago! ;)

I would agree that $2 & $4 is low. I think $5 for one and $10 for two would be good, but maybe that is high...hmmm this is a hard one.
